This cake is for a friend's son's 1st birthday, and it's inspired by some paper products she bought for his party. Wouldn't you know we both forgot about having a special smash cake for him?! Bummer!
My girlfriend would like me to make this cake for her sons birthday. Can you please let me know how you make the body for the monkey? It looks like marbled fondant. Any help would be appreciated. You did a wonderful job.
Thanks for your compliments! The monkey is indeed made of rolled fondant, as well as the white circle beneath him, and the dots on the side of the cake. The body of the monkey is made with dark gray fondant. I made some royal icing and dabbed it onto the gray fondant with a scrunched up paper towel. I then attached the monkey's face, hat, ears, and hands. I then set the monkey aside to air dry for several days.
Good luck! If you need further advice, I'd be happy to help. Good luck with your cake!
